Here's my version:
1 cup Milk
1/3 cup sugar
dash of salt
1/6 cup white flour
1 Tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3-4 bananas, into 1/2" slices
Optional toppings: candied banana slices, coconuts, almonds, graham crackers, etc.
Prebaked pie shells or graham cracker crusts
[I had a pack of 6 mini graham cracker crust shells in my pantry, but use what you have/like]
1. Mix milk, sugar, salt, and flour in a saucepan on medium heat and whisk until thick. You can add a tad more flour if the mixture isn't thickening up!
2. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla extract. Whisk until butter has melted
3. Put the banana slices into the saucepan, mix with a spatula (you can use the whisk, but it will smash up the banana- depends on the consistency you want your bananas to be in!)
4. Pour into pie shells and (optional) add toppings!
(I put banana slices, but I wouldn't suggest this since they started to brown after being in the fridge... I would suggest candied banana slices, coconuts, nuts, etc. that won't oxidize!)
5. Chill in fridge for at least 1 hour and then top with whipped cream!
6. Dig in & Enjoy!
